| Conservation Notes- Members of the family Lutjanidae that include the green jobfish (Aprion virescens). Though snappers are exploited commercially in tropical seas worldwide, little is known about these fish in SA waters. Since KZN lies at the southernmost range of most snappers, the stocks there are unlikely to withstand heavy commercial exploitation. Those on local markets probably originate from Mozambique
